Q: Who are the creators of We Spin?

A: A company behind We Spin is a digital marketing agency and a music industry blog called Dotted Music. And the founder of both Dotted Music and We Spin is Andrew Apanov, “Musician’s Web Keeper.” Andrew has been in the music business for over a decade, as an Editor-in-chief of Ultimate-Guitar.com, electronic music events promoter, band manager, radio host, drum & bass DJ, consultant, blogger and speaker. He is also a creator of the Stand Above The Noise videos series and you can follow him on Twitter here. Alongside Andrew, a small dedicated team of supporters has been working on We Spin since 2012.

Q: How much time will I need to spend on the program?

A: Every artist is different, and we know that your current availability is not the same as the availability of another musician. Our courses are fully flexible, meaning you can spend as much time on We Spin, as you want. This said, we will look into your project and, based on your approximate available hours, will suggest a weekly schedule, and you will know what results you can achieve in a set period of time.

Q: I already have some following and know a bit about business and marketing. How can this course help?

A: The thing about We Spin is that it’s not a simple single course, think of it as a knowledge pool, with information for an artist at any stage of their career. Even an established artist will find use of it. And if you think you know nothing, you are more than welcome to We Spin – as we start from the very basics.

Q: Will I become world-famous and live a life of a rockstar after We Spin?

A: If you asked this for real, then most probably you never will, although we can fix your mindset. The information you will learn at We Spin can definitely help you become big, but if you came here for fame and money, you are going to be disappointed in the music industry. We won’t help you win a lottery (which is partly what being signed to a major label is), we will show you real, working strategies and tactics aiming to help you build your brand, fanbase, and start earning through different income streams. If you follow our advice and keep working on making your art great, there is no doubt you will have a successful music career. And by the way, we talk on definition of success in more details at the beginning of the course.

Q: I’m not in “dance” electronic music, will We Spin work for me?

A: Oh, boy. Yes, it definitely will!

Q: I’m not an electronic artist at all. Can I still join the program, and will it be useful?

A: Yes, you can, and yes – it will be useful. The community may not be fully for you, but just complete the test and we will send you more info.

Q: I produce / perform in genre X, is this course right for me?

A: This course is for all musicians (electronic, primarily), not depending on the genre. We try to highlight any style of music. There are advantages in being both in EDM and experimental underground scenes, and we have information for everyone.

Q: I don’t think my music is good enough, isn’t it too early to promote myself?

A: No, it’s never too early to start building your brand. We explain everything in details from the very first steps. Don’t wait till you get new music done or achieve a specific level of skills – this is the most popular trap among musicians of all genres, and it has killed millions of talents. This said, you can’t afford to stop improving your production or DJ skills, ever.

Q: Will We Spin teach me how to produce music and DJ?

A: No. However, we can recommend you some fantastic resources and online trainings where you can improve your production or performing skills.

Q: I want to help the project! Can I participate in developing and promoting it, and what will I get in return?

A: Absolutely! We are always in need of supporters and active community members. We have some exciting stuff to work on to help We Spin, and we give discount and free access depending on the involvement. Contact us here to learn more.
